Wassermann & Company organized the hospitality at the Swiss Indoors Basel 2019 in the St. Jakobshalle. In the newly designed tennis village, managing director Patrick Ammann and president of the tournament Roger Brennwald commissioned us for the catering of the approximately 8,400 VIP guests.
The Tennisdorf is divided in several areas: VIP, Premium, Event Lounge and the SwissIn Restaurant. During 7 days we cater in total for 8.400 clients, of which 2,800 are guests in our pop-up restaurant.
Last year the reconstruction of St. Jakobshalle Basel was finished. It was the first time that guests were watching on our chefs during cooking their food through a window in the restaurant.
Every year our food offers classical dishes and of course new created dishes. In 2019 people loved Viennese Schnitzel from veal, Wagyu beef burger, gnocchi with fresh mushrooms and Kalbskopfbäggli were also popular. Our signature dish: Black Cod. A fish marinated in miso and mirin with beetroot quinoa and young spinach. Also very popular were our starters: Beef tataki, ceviche or octopus with potato mash.
The Swiss Indoors Basel is a tennis tournament in the ATP World Tour 500 category and is the largest sporting event in Switzerland. In a worldwide comparison, the event ranks as the largest indoor tournament in the world.
This year Roger Federer, local tennis hero and world famous tennis player has won the tournament for the 10th time this year.
