Wassermann Catering is committed to a sustainable business concept. We pursue the idea of responsible, economic action. Our management system serves as the basis for ISO9001:14001 certification. We will complete this by mid-2025. This guarantees systematic action and quality at all levels for all our clients.

For us, success means teamwork. This is based on our management principles and our corporate values. They serve as guidelines for dealing with each other as well as with business partners and suppliers.

Pay & fringe benefits

We pay above the minimum wage of the L-GAV in all departments. Our fringe benefits are attractive and are constantly being adjusted.

Regular training is essential to convey our DNA, values and knowledge. Our HR department works closely with the department heads when it comes to the further development of each individual.

Our Code of Conduct is the basis of our actions and a perpetual process. This is what we stand for in our relationships with our employees, customers, suppliers and service providers.

Absolutely! After all, we are here to give your guests and customers a good time with food and drink. Sustainable aspects are always included. Here are a few examples:

Beer

99% of our beer is brewed in Switzerland. For special occasions, we obtain the beer from small breweries in Basel and Zurich. For large events, we need large quantities. Our partner here is the leading traditional brewery just outside Basel. It has set itself the goal of reducing CO2 emissions to net zero by 2040. In this way, we keep transportation routes to a minimum. Hops are mainly sourced from Germany and Switzerland*.

Food

We source 80% of our food from Switzerland and neighboring European countries. We pay attention to short transportation routes. Whenever possible, we offer vegetarian and vegan menus with the aim of reducing the demand and ultimately the production of animal-based food.**

Wine

We source 99% of our red and white wines as well as sparkling wine, prosecco and champagne from Switzerland and the neighboring countries of Germany, Italy and France. We keep the number of transports as low as possible. We collect 100% of used wine bottles in used glass.

Every event is unique. We provide individual advice and create the best possible offer and show sustainable catering alternatives.

Smart inves

We invest for the long term. A major investment is the replacement or new acquisition of our centerpiece, the kitchen. We consume a lot of energy here. That’s why we are constantly replacing all appliances with energy-saving alternatives.

Customer feedback

We receive regular feedback at the follow-up meetings and questionnaires for each event.

Basel and Zurich are our “main base” – here we work closely with Treffpunkt Glaibasel, Wert!Stätten, the Zurich Salvation Army and Schweizer Tafel.

Our path is well thought out and planned with all seriousness. Always under the premise: credible, authentic, transparent and continuous. We are happy to make recommendations to our customers as required in order to live up to our claim of acting responsibly and to identify possible creative solutions. The topics of food waste, energy saving, resource-conserving actions as well as species-appropriate animal husbandry, less meat, creative vegetarian dishes and fair trade will occupy our company more than ever in the coming years.
